PRESS CONFERENCE

The reaction of the two head coaches

Tamás Pető and Mátyás Czuczi gave their reactions following the league match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Tamás Pető:

"We got exactly what we expected from our opponent—and what we had prepared for. I made sure the team wasn’t thrown off by the fact that our opponent’s results in recent weeks haven’t been good, because despite that, they’re still a team made up of good players. They pass the ball around well, play good football, and if we let them play, this is what happens, just like what we saw in the first half. In the first half, our opponents reached our goal once, and they punished us for it, capitalizing on a major defensive error. Regardless of that, we weren’t good overall for the entire match. I told the players that you can’t play this game without belief, determination, and hard work. I think the result was fair; our opponent played better than us in certain periods. Nothing too bad happened; we earned a point, and the goal we set for ourselves—to stabilize our position—has largely been achieved. Regardless, I see it as a problem that we can’t seem to make any progress. We’re lacking the quality and strength up front that characterized us in the first six or seven rounds."

Mátyás Czuczi:

"Based on our own data, this was a very intense match even by international standards, thanks in part to the fact that both teams played aggressively. I think with a little luck, we could have won this match. We had our chances, but Videoton had theirs at the end, so let’s just say it was a fair draw."
