Our team captain will continue to play for Videoton FC Fehérvár next season.
Our club has extended the contract of Csaba Spandler, so our team captain will continue to play for Videoton FC Fehérvár in the 2026/2027 season.
Our homegrown player returned to Székesfehérvár in the summer of 2023; over the past three seasons, he has appeared in 56 NB I, 28 NB II, and 7 MOL Hungarian Cup matches for Vidi, scoring one goal each in the league and the cup during the season just concluded. In the 2025/2026 season, as team captain, he missed only two matches due to a yellow card suspension; other than that, he started every league match.

“Even though I received offers from the first division, I quickly decided that I wanted to continue playing for Vidi. I have a deep connection to the club, which of course played a big role in my decision. I think we can start our summer preparations with better prospects this year than we did a year ago; the sporting director and head coach represent stability, and I’m motivated by the goal of getting promoted to NB I next season,” Csaba Spandler told our website.
“Csaba Spandler is a homegrown player for whom Videoton is a labor of love, and he proves this not only with words but also with his actions. A year ago, he stayed in Fehérvár even after we were relegated, and we’ve had constructive talks with him again now; both sides prioritized finding a solution, and I didn’t feel it would be difficult to convince him. I’m glad he chose us and that his love for the club outweighed other considerations. We are counting on him as a leader both on and off the field next season as well, and I am confident that he will be able to pass on this kind of loyalty to the club to the rest of the team,” — said sports director Nikolics Nemanja in a statement to our website.
