Experience keeps the club in the first division after a difficult season.
The 1994-95 season kicked off under a new coaching team following the failures of the season before. Laszlo Kiss left the club and his place went to Imre Jenei. The coach had been Hungarian national team manager for several years. He was also manager of the 1986 European cup winner Steaua Bucharest side. Karoly Szabo was named as part of the coaching team together with new keeper coach Laszlo Polgar.
Players come and go
Bravacz Otto tried his best to make sure the club would become a big side again. He brought in midfielder Norbert Toth from Haladas on a 3 year deal. Sandor Varsanyi moved to the club from Siofok, while Olympic international forward Mihaly Toth also arrived on a loan deal from Honved. Defender Laszlo Disztl returned to the club following a spell at Belgium club Brugge. Another new arrival was forward Andras Kereszturi. A further strengthening of the squad included the signing of Alexandru Darhat from Nagyvarad and midfielder Zsolt Dveri. Defender Jozsef Treso came in later during the season while Imre Fodor switched to Fehervar in a loan deal from Swiss side St. Gallen.
There was also plenty of movement in the opposite direction with defender Zoltan Balog going out on loan to ZTE. Janos Salacz and Lajos Takacs move to MTK, while midfielder Laszlo Horvath heading east to Bekescsaba. Laszlo Czeh departed to the capital and Ferencvaros while defender Janos Kucselata joined BVSC and Robert Jovan to Vasas.
Brazilian tour - torturous start to the season
The season was already in full steam when the side headed out to Sao Paulo to take part in the Parmalat Cup in Brazil. They lost to Juventude to end up in 5th place.
The domestic league season kicked off with a game against ZTE. The game started badly and it was quickly 3-1 to the visitors. However, there was a further goal before a great fightback with goals from Dubecz, Zimmermann, Toth and Horvath to make the final score 4-4.
The team were still looking for their first win in week 4 of the campaign. The single goal defeat to Győri ETO put Vidi in bottom place in the table. Imre Jenei departed the club following the 4-0 loss to Vac. His place in the dugout was taken by Karoly Szabo, who was assisted by Geza Wittmann. Karoly commented on his appointment: "I am taking over Parmalat at a time when the team are in bottom place and the players are physiologically at a low point. The supporters here deserve better and if I can do a little bit to help out, then I will be satisfied."
Week 10 saw a 0-0 draw with Csepel and although the team did not win, it was a result that brought some hope after a run of 5 defeats. The match with Stadler proved better and goals from Horvath, Nemeth and Varasanyi brought a good 3-0 win.
The final game of autumn was played on the 26th November. That also produced the first away win at Debrecen. The three points did not change much in the table as the team still occupied bottom place. Paramalt had collected 11 points with 2 wins, 5 draws and 8 defeats.
Tough spring - big wins - relegation avoided
The playing squad experienced plenty of movement during the close season. Defender Andras Cseh arrived on a loan deal from Sopron. Zsolt Muzsnay came in a similar loan deal from RFC Antwerp. Keeper Peter Disztl came back to the club from Győr while Antal Puhalak switched clubs from Honved. Finally Zoran Kuntic joined from ZTE.
Players leaving were Zoltan Nemeth to Sopron in a loan move. Midfielder Sandor Varasanyi headed out to ZTE while Jozsef Treso and Gabor Takacs moved to Keszthely. Keeper Miklos Jozsa, Alexandru Darha joined FC Bihor. The first match of spring saw a trip to Akaszora and a game at the new Stadler stadium. 10,000 were present and a battling performance produced a 0-0 draw. Three defeats followed to ZTE 3-2. BVSC 4-1 and Bekescsaba 1-0.
The breakthrough came at the Sostoi in a match against Honved. Parmalat would go on to lose just twice after the 4-1 win over Honved. There were big wins over Nagykaniusa 4-1, Vac 6-3, Sopron 5-0 to move up to 14th in the table.
The team travelled to play Ferenvaros with two matches left of the season. A Kuntics double and another goal from Horvath secured a 3-2 win. Parmalat waved goodbye to the season with a win over Debrecen. 34 points were picked up from the 9 wins, 7 draws and 14 defeats. That was enough to earn a 14th place finish in the domestic league table.
Last 16 of the Hungarian cup
Goals from Nemeth and Toth gave the team a 2-1 win over Selyev. The team made it into the final 16 and a match against Ujpest. The tie was virtually finished in the first leg at Ujpest, which produced a 4-0 win for the home side. The team would exit the cup after the second leg tie.
