The first chance came in the 3rd minute, when Patrik Kovács fired just wide of the left post at the end of a counterattack. In the 8th minute, following a cross from the right by Murka, Németh was unable to direct the ball on goal, and then in the 15th minute, Kemenes made a big save, after which our defenders blocked the home team’s shots twice, clearing the danger from our goal. Midway through the first half, we were forced to make a substitution, with Bence Kovács coming on for Bedi.

In the 35th minute, following a cross from the left, Németh headed just wide of the bottom-right corner, and then we had to make another forced substitution due to injury, with Milán Virágh replacing Patrik Kovács. As the final five minutes of the first half began, the goalkeeper saved Németh’s shot, and then, following a cross from the left, Kemenes blocked Ternován’s shot, so the teams went into halftime with the score at 0-0.

In the 50th minute, Spandler first blocked Csatári’s shot, and then a home team player sent the rebound sailing high and wide. Shortly after, Murka’s shot bounced off the right post, but in the 54th minute we took the lead: Simut was brought down inside the box, and Németh confidently converted the resulting penalty (0-1)!

We quickly doubled our lead when, in the 57th minute, Deczki failed to hold onto the ball following a corner kick from the right, allowing it to fall to Spandler, and our captain fired it into the net (0-2)! Two minutes later, Murka could have sealed the match, but he shot over the bar from a clear scoring opportunity. In the 78th minute, Varjas’s header posed no threat to our goal, and a minute later, Gresó, in a good position from 15 meters out, rolled the ball just wide of the right post.

Our team confidently held onto its lead in the closing minutes and earned a well-deserved 2-0 victory at third-place Mezőkövesd’s home ground, closing the gap to four points. The action continues next Saturday at home against Soroksár.
