Vidi hosted FC Ajka at home in the second round of the Merkantil Bank Liga NB II spring season. Head coach Tamás Pető selected the following starting eleven: Nagy G. - Virágh, Kocsis, Spandler - Kovács K., Murka, Somogyi, Zsótér - Bedi, Haraszti, Németh. Missing were Varga, Bartusz, Kojnok, Nagy, and Horváth who were unavailable due to injury. Before kickoff, a unique porcelain exhibition from the collection of Ferenc Földvári opened at the Vidi Museum.

In the fourth minute, we immediately created danger inside the opponent's penalty area, with Haraszti being fouled by an opponent, but no penalty was given. In the 15th minute, Murka's shot was saved by the goalkeeper, and a minute later Mohos broke through on the right, but Nagy made a smart save. In the 17th minute, Kovács's shot was blocked by our defender for a corner, and towards the end of the first half, Haraszti shot just wide of the bottom right corner. In the 41st minute, our dominance paid off when Simut crossed from the right and Krisztián Kovács volleyed the ball into the right side of the goal (1-0), giving us the lead at halftime.
At the break, in honor of Vidi85's anniversary, we spoke with our club's living legend, János Németh, on the pitch about memorable moments from the past 85 years. Patrik Kovács' shot narrowly missed the bottom left corner. The visitors tried to equalize in the final minutes of the match, but the score remained unchanged, and our team secured an important victory against FC Ajka. The action continues on Thursday, when we visit Győr in the MOL Hungarian Cup.
The first chance of the second half came in the 55th minute for our team, when Krisztián Kovács crossed from the left towards the center, past the onrushing goalkeeper, but the ball flew just over the bar. In the 69th minute, Kovács was again in the thick of the action, but his shot towards the top left corner went just wide. In the 72nd minute, Ajka threatened when substitute Csizmadia shot over the bar at the end of an attack down the left.
