Good attacks, nice goals but the result was not the main priority.
We are into the second week of the summer pre-season, with plenty of intensity being shown in the six days in Austria. New head coach Joan Carrillo mentioned in his pre-match comments that he was satisfied with the work of the players so far, and although each game is important to win when Vidi step on to the pitch, there would be more important aspects in the first friendly match than the result itself.
Just as had been expected, you could feel from the very start, that there was a difference in level between the two sides according to the leagues they play in. However, there was never a moment of underestimating the opponents or taking things easy. The opening goal arrived on 10 minutes following a perfect curling Gyurcso free kick (1-0). Kovacs broke in to the box on the right 3 minutes later, before squaring the ball in to the middle for Nikolics to find the back of the net from close in (2-0). Nikolics was on hand again after 25 minutes to extend the lead to (3-0), while Kovacs capped a good attacking move four minutes later, to make the score (4-0). The Austrian side mainly looked threatening from corners, and Luca Poster managed to score a consolation on 45 minutes with a header, (4-1).

Only Fejes and Gyurcso remained on the pitch for the start of the second half, with Joan Carrillo saying before the game that there would be players, who he would be trying out in different positions. This applied to Fejes, who had played at left back in the first 45 minutes, before partnering Roland Juhasz for the second half in central defence. There wasn't long to wait for the goals to arrive. Haraszti scored the fifth Vidi goal after 53 minutes, and the youngster scored his second and Videoton's sixth goal to make it (6-1). There were fewer chances being created during this period of the game, but Zsoter finally completed the scoring with a nice goal on 89 minutes to make it (7-1).
Vidi played good football and scored nice goals, confidently beating their lower league opponents, but at the same time, a very enthusiastic Austrian side. Vidi are next in action next week on Wednesday. They will face Czech first division side FK Baumit Jablonec, with kick off at 16:00pm. It promises to be a more competitive match for Vidi.
