Vidi took a two-goal lead in the first half and ultimately secured the three points with a confident performance at the home of Szeged-Csanád Grosics Academy.
In the 26th round of the Merkantil Bank Liga NB II, our team visited Szeged-Csanád Grosics Akadémia. Head coach Tamás Pető sent out the following starting lineup: Kemenes – Köllő, Spandler, Hesz – Kovács K., Somogyi, Murka, Bedi, Zsótér – Németh, Varga. Both Gergő Kocsis and Bence Kovács were suspended due to five yellow cards, Gergely Nagy was out due to illness, while Kojnok, Haraszti, Dániel Nagy, and Tamás Horváth were unavailable to the coaching staff due to injury.

In the 14th minute, the home team had their first chance: Vágó sent a dangerous header back toward our goal, but we managed to clear it; after another cross, Horváth headed the ball well over the bar. We came close to taking the lead for the first time in the 22nd minute, when Németh, breaking down the right flank, couldn’t be stopped even with a foul; Veszelinov made a very smart save to deny his shot from a great position. We continued to play with confidence after the break, while the home side managed only a few dangerous attacks. In the 53rd minute, at the end of one such attack, Miskolczi received the ball from a cross and fired just wide of the left post. Meanwhile, we made our substitutions, first bringing on Dékei, then Simut. In the 75th minute, we sealed the match: Somogyi dribbled inside the box and shot; the ball deflected off Horváth’s leg and flew unstoppably into the net (0-3)!
Then, in the 30th minute, after a nice move, Varga found the bottom right corner of the Szeged goal from 15 meters out, giving our team the lead (0-1)! He beat his marker before striking low and hard in to the back of the net. Five minutes later, we doubled our lead: Németh timed his run perfectly to meet a cross from the right and fired the ball into the left side of the net (0-2)! The score remained unchanged until halftime, and we went into the break with a two-goal lead.
Following this, Bartusz, Kecskés, and Geiger also entered the game. In the 86th minute, Dékei could have scored Videoton’s fourth goal; he received a good pass from Krisztián Kovács, but his first-time shot went wide of the left post. The match ended with a 3-0 Videoton victory, and our team secured another crucial three points on the road. In a week’s time, we’ll host league-leaders Vasas at the Sóstói Stadium.
