MOL BECOME VIDEOTON'S MAIN BACKERS FOR THE 2010-11 SEASON

MOL have decided to put their backing into the runners up for the 2009-10 season, in an effort to improve the quality of the championships. The parties looked at the performance of last season, and feel that the Szekesfehervar side can win the title, which would mean qualification to the most prestigious European tournament. MOL is putting their support into Hungarian sport. Their target is to give a chance to Hungarian players to perform on the world-class stage.

Zsolt Hernadi, President of MOL, had this to say regarding the contract to support the club: "As a dominant energy company in East-Central Europe, we know what it means to compete on a day-to-day basis in the international market. Our mission is to support sport, and those who are able to reap success on the international stage, and to boost the countries name in the world. The last two decades have not brought much joy to Hungarian football, but it now seems as if a transformation is taking place, and these positive changes are happening at club level. Videoton FC achieved the last real international football success for Hungary, many years ago. We hope that we can help the whole of Hungarian football with this backing, which will also hopefully soon see the Hungarian national side become successful on the international stage."

The new cooperation will begin on the 1st July 2010 and last until the 30th June 2011.

MOL have already backed Hungarian sport on a wide scale: They have been the biggest federal sponsors in recent years, in the most successful sporting achievements like kayak-canoe, as well as being he main sponsors of motor cycle World champion, Gabor Talmacsi. They have also done a lot to help the young talent in sport that is coming through, to help keep Hungarian sport at the top level in both European and World levels. MOL has also been global leaders in the successful sponsorship of the joint Hungarian - Romanian Ice-hockey league, for 2 years now.
